Syrian artist Majd Kurdieh’s childlike paintings incorporate strong literary and story-telling techniques. Over the past 4 years, he has created a ‘cast of characters the two main ones being Fasaeen (Arabic for ‘tiny ones’), one boy (Fasoon), and one girl (Fasooneh).
These whimsical characters are always smiling despite the fact their world is filled with hardships and are usually accompanied by other characters. The group of characters comes together to make what the artist calls ‘The Very Scary Butterfly Gang’.
Beautifully captured on a range of mugs notebooks and calendars. Kurdieh is represented by Fan A Porter, a contemporary art gallery in The Workshop Dubai.
