Nid pronounced nee, is French for nest.

Created by Sarah Chehab in 2022, Nid explores the notion of home as a physical space as well as a place of belonging, with slow design and fine craft at its heart. Handcrafted in Lebanon, the objects are made from quality materials and time-honored techniques. In a fast-paced and consumerist oriented design sphere, artisanship in textile supports the slow craft ethos.

A graphic designer by training and trade, Sarah’s creative process draws inspiration from architecture, geography, language and the natural world to build a library of contemporary patterns using regional traditional crafts. The soul of the brand lies in the quest to produce a visual language that doesn’t rely on stereotypical motifs and patterns to communicate culture, and rather relies on a transversal and multi-faceted spirit of belonging.
