Yello is the GCC’s first circular, zero-waste, and ethical abaya brand, founded by Zein Altawil in 2023. It was born from a desire to combine cultural tradition with environmental responsibility.
Yello creates abayas using biodegradable fabrics made from fruit and vegetable waste, such as banana fibers, pineapple shells, and orange peels. Each abaya helps to reduce environmental impact by conserving water and lowering CO2 emissions. Since its launch, Yello has saved over 1.5 million liters of water and prevented the release of 10,000 kg of CO2.
In addition, Yello’s commitment to sustainability extends to its packaging, which is completely zero-waste and plastic-free, featuring plantable thank-you notes and tags. At the Marketplace, Yello will showcase its beautifully crafted, eco-friendly abayas, offering women a stylish way to make a positive impact on the planet while celebrating cultural heritage.
