This year, Karam Coffee Experience welcomes guests to learn about the coffee journey. Getting access behind-the-scenes and into the lab, the Karam team will explain the difference between hot air roasting and the conventional drum roasting, followed by a demonstration of how the larger scale production works. After a brief cupping, there will be a quick quiz and high scorers will be presented with the freshly roasted coffee.

Tinkah x INKED present the Grey Area dining experience at Alserkal. A series of achromatic courses served on custom-designed tableware takes diners on a colourless, culinary journey. Taking nods from “the colour without colour”, the experience lies, in an indeterminate territory, an undefined position, neither here nor there. Design enthusiasts can learn about food design with Sharabassy Built Environment Studio’s ‘Food Design Thinking Workshop’ through the use of visual exploration, story cubes and story cards.

A panel discussion on Design investment in Food and Beverage at Downtown Design’s ‘The Forum’ will bring together Food and Beverage entrepreneurs, investors and designers to analyze the relative return on investment in design on Food and Beverage outlets.

The cities favourite chocolate makers, Mirzam introduce their latest collaboration’s with Emirati porcelain designer and craftswoman, Sheikha Hind bint Majed al Qasimi and Shiekha Wafa Hasher Al Maktoum. Exclusive to Dubai Design Week, the Shiekha Wafa Hasher Al Maktoum x Mirzam will present a patterned art piece, crafted to highlight the richly flavoured Emirati ingredient; camel milk. In addition, daily tours will be taking place throughout the week at their warehouse in Alserkal.
