His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai has launched the Dubai Autonomous Transportation Strategy which aims to transform Dubai into 25 percent autonomous by 2030 and is projected to save AED 22 billion in yearly economic costs.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai has launched the Dubai Autonomous Transportation Strategy which aims to transform Dubai into 25 percent autonomous by 2030 and is projected to save AED 22 billion in yearly economic costs.
The Dubai Autonomous Transportation Strategy will see a 44% reduction in transportation costs, 12% reduction in carbon emissions and 12% reduction in accidents as well as an overall rise in individual productivity by reducing the numbers of hours wasted in conventional transportation by 396 hours annually. It will also reduce the spaces allocated for parking.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed said: “Dubai is leading all major cities of the world by taking a big leap in the adoption of artificial intelligence to serve humanity and establish a global model of the city of the future. Dubai aims to become the world’s largest laboratory for technology and research and development. Today we put forward clear and precise goals within the Dubai Autonomous Transportation Strategy, making it one of the main pillars to achieve a sustainable economy for the emirate.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed aims to transform the UAE into a global source of the future across a variety of sectors, including smart cities, clean energy, autonomous transportation, sustainable infrastructure and legislation for the future.
