L-concept, an interior design consultancy founded by Lebanese designer Lama Ghalayini, will host two interior design focused workshops for children at BookMunch Café during Dubai Design Week (Oct 24- 29).
The first workshop, Unleash the Designer in YOU: an afternoon with Lama Ghalayini, takes place October 24th 4pm- 6pm, at BookMunch Café (Al Wasl Square) and will offer children ages 9 and up the opportunity to learn more about the world of interior design through various interactive apps and creative tools. After they've become better acquainted with some of Lama’s works, the children will be asked to collaborate and create an original piece of furniture. The resulting masterpiece will be showcased throughout Dubai Design Week at Bookmuch Cafe.
‘Little Designers: DIY Furniture’ takes place October 27, 4-6pm at BookMunch Café (Bay Square, Business Bay) and is aimed at children ages 4 and up. The event will see children designing their own personalized home accessories which they can later take home, along with a souvenir from Dubai Design Week.
Born in Beirut, Lama Ghalayini’s scope of work ranges from residential make-over projects to designing the interiors of retail spaces and children’s edutainment centers. Her extensive portfolio also includes a line of children’s furniture and home accessories. “I believe that design should be accessible to everyone, including children and young adults. It is for this reason that I chose to involve children and teenagers in both my events during Dubai Design Week,” she said.
