More than 50 makers gathered in the heart of Dubai Design District for the Merchants and Makers Market, Ripe Market’s annual pop-up design shop and the place to find unique designs by local makers. The two-day outdoor market hosted artists, designers, jewellers, foodies and craftspeople during the 2019 Dubai Design Week.
Ripe Market runs outdoor pop-up events across Dubai and Abu Dhabi to provide local businesses with a platform to reach more of their fellow residents and visitors in the UAE. Dubai Design District was host this year to makers selling their fashions, visual art, jewellery, and artisanal food concepts.
From musical instruments and pottery, to handmade jewellery and visual art, to children’s clothes and vegan ice lollis, the open-air market was a lively intersection of design-based small businesses and the design enthusiasts who love to support them.
