The shortlist of this year’s edition of Project REMAKE, Marina Home Interior’s platform for young design graduates to showcase their designs to industry pioneers, will be announced June 22 at the Marina Home Showroom, Mall of the Emirates.
Held in partnership with four of Dubai’s top universities, American University in Dubai, Heriot-Watt University Dubai, Manipal University and Zayed University Dubai, students this year compete for the coveted ‘2016 Marina Design Star’ title by re-imagining and re-constructing this years’ Canvas Product, a reclaimed wood and metal side table.

A distinguished panel of judges, including Maryam Al Suwaidi and Sulaiman Al Thehli, Founders of Design Talk - Interior Design Studio; Tarik Al Zaharna, Director, T.ZED Architects (and designer of this year’s Downtown Design tent); Maliha Nishat, Design Director, DWP UAE; Manuel Arnaut, Editor In Chief - Architectural Digest, Sahil Vakil, Director - Procurement, Marina Home Interiors and Karl Schwitzke, Founder, Schwitzke & Partner, will trim the entries down to a shortlist of 10 finalists, whose designs will then go to a public online vote to select a final winner.
The winning designer will be announced September 27th and will be awarded a three-month long internship at industry pioneer Schwitzke Group’s headquarters in Dusseldorf, Germany.
