Arrangements by Michael Anastassiades
On the occasion of Dubai Design Week, London-based designer Michael Anastassiades presented his latest lighting collection titled Arrangements for international manufacturing brand Flos. An exclusive lighting collection, which made its grand debut during 2017 Euroluce, Salone del Mobile, is a modular system of geometric light elements. They can be combined in different ways, creating multiple compositions into individual chandeliers. Each unit simply attaches to the previous one as if resting, balancing perfectly as a part of a glowing chain. Marking its first participation in Dubai Design Week, Flos collaborated with architecture and design studio SVENM to showcase Anastassiades’ latest creation.
Pixel
Office furniture brand Bene has unveiled its Pixel concept at this year’s Downtown Design show. Making its regional debut in Dubai, the Pixel is a simple box design that can be combined in a multitude of ways. It can serve as a storage container, bookcase, tiered seating, table or chair. The versatile product is designed to inspire creativity and help businesses utilise space more efficiently.
Hobb by Nadine Kanso and Fadi Sarieddine
Jewelry designer and artist Nadine Kanso joined forces with architect and product designer Fadi Sarieddine and launched a limited edition collection titled ‘Khawatir’ during this year’s Dubai Design Week. The collection marries both designers’ artistic visions and sees Kanso applying her trademark calligraphy in show-stopping neon to Sarieddine’s furniture pieces. The limited edition collection consists of a stand-alone mirror, a multi-purpose stool titled ‘Hobb’ (Love) and a hand-held mirror titled Ana 02. The materials used for this project include wood, brass, mirror and neon paint.
