Organised by the Dubai Design and Fashion Council, the Urban Majlis will launch the MENA Design Outlook, a ground-breaking study that provides a comprehensive analysis of the Middle East’s design industry and the impact of the sector on economic growth and its role in driving innovation. A panel of industry experts, local and regional designers will discuss the study’s implications and the impact on emerging trends in the MENA design sector. The study looks at a range of sectors within the design space, and analyses both the opportunity and contributions toward local economies.Through the comparative analysis between both MENA and global markets, growth opportunities are identified. The exploration of future design trends, particularly the integration of design with technology, environmental sustainability and user experience also provide ideas for the development of the UAE design industry.

The Urban Majlis will feature a keynote speech by Dr Amina Al Rustamani, Chairwomen, Dubai Design and Fashion Council; and a panel with Emmanuel Durou, Partner, Monitor Deloitte; Ahmed Al Ali, Executive Chairman, X-Architects; Ayah Al Bitar, Product and Furniture Designer, Shireen El Khatib, CEO, Marquee General Trading, moderated by Ahmed Bin Shabib Owner/Founder, Brownbook
