Pavilion Title: Tab tab fi zairwatam, Drumming from Algiers to Tamanrasset
The interactive experience of the Algerian pavilion consists of graphic surfaces displaying representations of sounds created through an arrangement of uniquely designed percussion instruments that compose a vibrant audio landscape. Variations of the ‘galal’ and ‘derboukas’, traditional Arabic drums, are placed above mirrored flooring enchanting audiences with their reflections.
The purpose of the Algerian Pavilion is interaction. Users become musicians, performing improvised beats using contemporary Algerian design-drums. A soundtrack will guide the audiences through a sensory experience and inspire personal beats to that unify all those within.
