Monday 26 October | 12 - 2pm
MB&F M.A.D. Gallery, Alserkal Avenue, Al Quoz 1
M.A.D. Gallery is hosting a "Build it Yourself" Böhm Stirling workshop. Ten participants are invited to each assemble a Böhm Stirling Engine, under the direction of the MB&F M.A.D.Gallery team. The participant that assembles the Böhm Stirling Engine in the least amount of time will get to take home a Böhm Stirling Engine as a gift.
Throughout the workshop, participants will learn about the design method behind the making of Böhm Stirling Engines, their inner mechanisms and how they function by actually putting them together. A live demonstration of a Stirling Engine in action will be conducted, and afterwards participants are invited to run a Stirling Engine themselves.
This activity will be held on site in the MB&F M.A.D.Gallery, where the audience will be privy to the new collection of Stirling Engines which will be unveiled at the start of Dubai Design Week.
About MB&F M.A.D. Gallery
The MB&F M.A.D. Gallery is a captivating universe of kinetic art where Horological Machines and Mechanical Art Devices reign supreme. The first M.A.D. Gallery opened in 2011 in Geneva on Rue Verdaine, a stone’s throw from MB&F’s offices and atelier in the heart of the city’s old town. A second M.A.D.Gallery opened in Taipei in 2014 and a third one in Dubai in January 2016.
Inside the galleries, not only can visitors find the complete range of MB&F Horological Machines and Legacy Machines, but also have the pleasure of discovering carefully-curated pieces – or, as they call them them, Mechanical Art Devices – from around the world.
MB&F M.A.D.Gallery Dubai is operated by Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons LLC.
