Heriot Watt University Dubai Campus, Dubai International Academic City
Designing the Void encourages dialogue and interaction as well as interpretation and improvisation between a person (user) and a designated space (void).
The design must support multiple uses and outcomes by creating open ended but tangible modes of communication. This is an inter-disciplinary competition that creates platforms encouraging creativity, dialogue and interactions within the public realm. This outdoor exhibit is made from material of the designer's own choice and sits within a three-metre cubed space, with the designed object or spatial form occupying a maximum volume of two-metre squared (or equivalent) within the cubed space.
A series of talks and final jury will take place on 26 October.
Winners and all finalists’ designs will be exhibited from 26-29 October.
