“Whiteness and all grey Colours between white and black, may be compounded of Colours, and the whiteness of the Sun’s Light is compounded of all the primary Colours mix’d in a due proportion.” – Sir Isaac Newton, 1704.
Colour and space are the subjects of experimentation through a performance workshop and studied presentation by AT Architects. Colour is a vital signifier in our social language, and is fundamental to our experience of our surroundings. From Leonardo da Vinci’s notebooks to the musings of modern scientists, we have tried to study colour and explain how the human eye sees it. But most importantly, colour takes on meaning and shapes our view of the world. It enriches our lives and surprises us with its endless variety. Colour mirrors our moods and probably has more influence on our lives than we realise.
With special thanks to the generosity of FBMI (Fatima Bint Mohamed Bin Zayed Initiative) for in-kind support of this event.
