As a country, the UAE’s growth has in many ways been made possible by air conditioning and private cars. While there has been great investment recently in public amenities such as rapid transit and public parks, these don’t always have a direct impact in the lives of the country’s young people.
In this workshop, Eight Inc. examines the urban fabric of Dubai in search of under-utilitised spaces in the daily paths of its young people. It will consider ways in which the city can support creative uses for these spaces in the hope of making a more liveable city and teaching young people value leadership, innovation, and community-building skills.
