Founder of L’AYATÏ Anne-Isabelle Saint-Pierre presents a pop-up exhibition to showcase the brand’s new textile designs and new items from its portfolio.

L’AYATÏ’s 2019 collection is inspired by modern forms of storytelling, combining the folk tales of the Arabian Nights which evolved into literature with the narratives of the Tainos aboriginal people which were passed down from generation to generation.

Visitors will be directed to different areas by signs at the entrance. L’AYATÏ homeware items will be displayed in separate corners with poufs and rugs on the floor. The textile collection will also be reflected on phone cases sporting original digital prints which will be placed on cushions. Table runners will grace a small dining table placed in the centre of the space, and a small capsule collection by Haitian/Swedish designer Romy Hourani will also be on display.

About L’AYATÏ
L’AYATÏ is a design brand specializing in textiles and digital painting on fabric. It was founded in Milan in 2016 by Anne-Isabelle Saint-Pierre, a Haitian-born designer and graduate of the Istituto Marangoni. L’AYATÏ launched in Dubai Design District (d3) during Dubai Design Week, making Anne-Isabelle the first Haitian designer ever to participate. The name of the brand is a play on the designer’s country of origin and the affectionate Arabic term ‘Hayati’ meaning ‘my world’ or ‘my life’. The unusual spelling is intentional as the country is spelt Ayiti in Creole, Haiti’s second language.
