Through this hands-on workshop, participants learnt about bioplastics, a sustainable alternative to plastic and how to make them from everyday ingredients.

More than 8.3 billion tons of plastic have been produced since the early 1950s and about 60% of this plastic has ended up in either a landfill or the ocean. The same properties that make plastics so useful — their durability and resistance to degradation — make them nearly impossible for nature to completely decompose. Through this free workshop, participants gained a deeper understanding of the potential uses of these materials, and the ethical and environmental benefits associated with them.

For ages 10 and above.

This workshop was free to attend.
