Juhi Chaand / Quarter Moon Studio
A creative workshop where participants were taught hand building and encouraged people of all ages to sculpt using handmade, sustainable clay.
The participants had the opportunity to built eco-friendly sculptures out of paper clay. Paper clay is very versatile, best fit for hand-building. It is strong and lightweight, as it is made using shredded paper and/or other cellulose fibres mixed with products like bleach for sturdier builds. This handmade clay works just as well as standard air-drying clay, but is slightly more coarse in texture. For this workshop, the clay was made from waste paper from the Dubai Design Week offices.
Recommended for ages 12 and above.
