Hernán Torres / Precious Plastic Dubai
Participants explored the basics of plastics and were guided through handling locally made set of machines used to upcycle plastic into decorative or functional items, from segregation to polishing.
It is well known that plastic is both a material of thousands of solutions but also one of the biggest environmental issues of modern life. In this workshop, participants learned ways for a single-use pollutant object to be transformed into valuable raw material to make useful tools and other products.
This workshop, in collaboration with Tashkeel, offered unique experiences to upcycle plastics, from plastic segregation to machine handling to cutting, sanding, and polishing for product finishing with the main objective being that anyone can start a positive impact today.
