As part of Alserkal Art Week, a book launch and presentation was held in tandem by Prof. Winka Dubbeldam, MArch, MsAAD, founder and partner of Archi-Tectonics and author of The Strange Object.

In the post-digital era, the way built environments are experienced has undergone changes enabled by advances in technology, material innovation, and design conceptualisation. The re-emerging architecture-as-object generates new forms and meanings, offering an open-mindedness to novel systems and digitalised ways of interpreting the architectural body. Strange Objects, New Solids and Massive Things, the latest book from New York based design firm Archi-Tectonics, celebrates building in relationship to the pendulum shift in modern design.

As part of Alserkal Art Week, visitors became a part of a book launch and discover how the book was, in itself, a strange object.
