The prototype of the winning project of the American University of Dubai's interior design department, in collaboration with Studiovee, was unveiled during Dubai Design Week.
With a focus on the principles of ergonomics, smart design and innovative technologies as well as sustainable initiatives and flexibility in use, the winning proposal ‘Invert’ is a modular seating concept designed by students Marah Bashir and Nadine Abdelrahman. It is inspired by Burj Khalifa and developed in the 'Smart Design' class of the AUD Interior Design Department led by Prof. Annamaria Lambri
Titled ‘Design Challenge 2021: Unleash your Creativity’, the competition called for design proposals of an innovative seating collection inspired by Dubai’s tradition, modern aspects and architecture, to include smart technology.
