Arthur Garcin / Okomoko
Participants made their own shavings, using a hand plane, out of different wood species to use in ornament creation.
Wood shavings were soaked in warm water to make them flexible, and also painted with milk paint to enhance them. The facilitator showed a few examples using cloth spins to create difference shapes such as drops, circles, springs, etc. and guide participants to create their own. In this workshop, participants discovered how wood shaving ornaments are made in northern Europe and made their own.
Recommended for ages 12 and above.
