Dual Casting is an unconventional technique with its use of semi-precious materials rendering it unfamiliar to the majority of regional consumers.

As a small country, the value attributed to craft products by Kuwait’s society has diminished their demand due to a common lack of awareness.

This work intends to create a stunning visual symbol to highlight the importance of traditional craft methods. The idea of dual casting was originally imagined by Kawther Alsaffar in a dream while working with Alwafi Foundry. Alsaffar was searching for a way to enhance the inherent beauty of the rough sand-casting that is often masked and removed.
