Ali Bahmani and Fahimeh Paknejad, Sponsored by JOTUN
HYPAR allows visitors to experience the delicate balance that exists in nature, often conveyed through its geometric shapes.
Ali Bahmani and Fahimeh Paknejad have created a large paper sculpture in the shape of a Hyperbolic Paraboloid (HYPAR). To create the smooth Hypar surface they used computer algorithms and parametric design to calculate each paper module's distance from the hanging mesh.
The amount of waste paper produced by humans is staggering. It is having a major negative impact on the environment. With this piece, the designers intend to bring attention to a material that is being wasted in vast amounts in offices and around the world.
