SOLAR is made from Shell Homage biodegradable egg & nutshells bio-composite material, honouring the shells and their personal journey.

This new material is made out of food waste to replace oil-based plastic in a bid to limit the impacts of climate change. Eggshell is a natural and waterproof material. Its composition is 95 per cent calcium carbonate whilst a natural ceramic captures up to 78 per cent of CO2.

The Solar installation is a tribute to the sun, our source of energy and the centre of our universe, and depicts the planets in our solar system in various multi-coloured shades, emphasizing each planet’s characteristics through various textures and hues.

The installation is a reminder to save mother earth, appreciate our natural resources, and think twice about what we consider waste.
