REEFS draws inspiration from coral reefs, utilizing biomimicry to create an interactive, sustainable environment from recycled plastic bottles, aiming to raise awareness about recycling and reduce plastic waste, showcasing advanced recycling techniques through modular, 3D-printed coral-inspired structures.

Inspired by the intricate and diverse structures of coral reefs, this design concept incorporates organic, curved forms to create a dynamic and visually striking environment.

The concept is to create an interactive and immersive experience that mimics the unique characteristics of coral reefs through the use of biomimicry.

This artwork aims to raise awareness about the importance of recycling plastic and promote sustainability by creating designs for the community using recycled plastic bottles. The project will highlight the harmful effects of plastic waste on the environment and the ecosystem and demonstrate the value of recycling.

Through the creation of these designs, the project will showcase the state-of-the-art technology and techniques used in recycling plastic and transforming it into useful and beautiful items. These designs will range from simple products to more complex items that can be used by the community.

The project will ultimately contribute to reducing the amount of plastic waste in the environment, promoting sustainability, and fostering a culture of recycling in the community.

Using a combination of recycled plastic and copper, the design mimics the natural textures and patterns found in coral reefs, the form is divided into different "cells", each with its own unique character and proportion. The structure is designed to be modular, allowing for a flexible and dynamic display of the various coral reef forms created by 3D printing.

REEFS will be featured at the UAE Designer Exhibition, supported by Dubai Culture & Arts Authority (Dubai Culture)
