The "Reviving kajoujah" project is a unique and special endeavor that aims to celebrate the rich Emirati heritage of Talli craftsmanship while ushering it into the modern age through an innovative reinterpretation using the iconic Kajoujah design.

Emirati women are renowned for their elegance, especially in the embellished kanduras, adorned with a beautiful yellow luster and shine called "Talli." This traditional handicraft holds great significance in UAE culture. Talli is a textile art that features bright colors and intricate designs, decorating various women's clothing, from wedding gowns to everyday wear. The craft involves skillfully twisting and braiding different threads together, resulting in long, narrow strips of fabric with fine, elaborate patterns

The concept of reviving the Kajoujah lies in creating a new, modern, and contemporary design for this traditional handicraft. The design process incorporates the use of recycled materials and leverages advanced 3D printing techniques. The intersecting lines in the design symbolize the threads of the Talli, meticulously coming together to form a stunning and intricate pattern.

This project encapsulates the spirit of Emirati culture, resilience, and sustainable creativity.

Reviving Kajoujah will be featured at the UAE Designer Exhibition, supported by Dubai Culture & Arts Authority (Dubai Culture)
