King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture - Ithra
This workshop allowed participants to explore eco-friendly dyeing methods that utilize natural pigments like plant-based and insect-derived dyes
In the realm of fashion, the textile industry stands as one of the greatest contributors to environmental pollution, with dyeing processes emerging as particularly harmful to our planet. Dyeing chemicals discharged into rivers and ecosystems on a daily basis ruin the very environment we inhabit. In this workshop, we dared to challenge the status quo by delving into the realm of alternative dying methods using natural pigments. From plant-based dyes to those derived from insects, the spectrum of possibilities awaits our discovery. Designed our own textile using various dying techniques by implementing natural pigments. Together, we will color the future of fashion with a more sustainable path.
