Mary Claire Kirwan
'The Art of Play' allowed participants to experiment with homemade vegetable dyes and create their own pieces of abstract art.
In this artistic journey, painting and play went hand in hand, serving as constant reminders that the process was just as significant as the final destination. This workshop became a sanctuary where time momentarily halted its ceaseless march, enveloping participants in the enchantment of creation through a profound connection with their everyday senses. Within this artistic realm, brushstrokes evolved into eloquent storytellers, each mark a unique facet of our inner selves unveiled. Here, participants discovered the art of relinquishing fear when it came to making marks, embraced the playfulness of colors through homemade vegetable dyes, and cultivated a deep appreciation for the rich and liberating world of abstract art.
About the Artist:
MC Kirwan, a Fashion Degree graduate from The Limerick School of Art and Design in Ireland, moved to London after her studies and spent years working in fashion while traveling the world. In 2019, a life-altering back injury from a surfing accident led her to pick up a paintbrush as an escape from chronic pain, evolving into a passion. Her abstract expressionism explores color, space, shapes, and emotions, with a focus on creating joy and pleasure. Based in Dubai, UAE, MC believes that achieving moments of happiness, both mentally and physically, is the greatest success in life, an ongoing journey in our turbulent world. Her work aims to provide viewers with momentary joy, and she creates across various mediums and scales.
