Utilizing natural materials and innovative technology, Womena explored female empowerment through design.

Curated by creative producer and writer Rythma Ekanayake, the exhibition was divided into three segments, celebrating women’s empowerment through design, creativity, and the pursuit of freedom. It served as a reminder of the freedom that comes with self-expression, design, and community.

The exhibition posed thought-provoking questions: Who are we when no one is looking? What do our dreams look like? Why do we continue to create in the face of all this grief?

Several distinctive elements and innovative techniques enhanced the immersive experience. In a collaboration between Life of Loofah and Kilma, three projectors cast content onto loofahs, turning them into textured canvases for audiovisual storytelling. This unconventional use of loofahs allowed the visuals to interact with their organic structure, creating dynamic and layered projections that complemented the theme of self-expression and freedom.

The "Pre-Exodus" VR section by Solenne Tadros provided visitors with a deeper, multi-sensory exploration of these themes, blending virtual reality with projected visuals for a fully interactive experience.

Additionally, an interactive poetry segment invited visitors to engage by interpreting a poem by Amira Salah-Ahmed.
