National Pavilion UAE
Children created postcards from personal photos of Dubai's iconic landmarks.
Participants stepped back in time to explore Dubai's architectural history from the 1960s to today in this engaging workshop. Children examined vintage postcards showcasing the city's transformation and brought personal photos of themselves or family members at significant Dubai landmarks. Newcomers captured important places in their own neighborhoods, reflecting on the evolution of their surroundings.
Through this creative process, participants crafted and shared their own postcards, capturing the buildings and spaces that made their Dubai special. Inspired by Lest We Forget: Structures of Memory in the UAE, curated by Dr. Michelle Bambling, the workshop was organized in partnership with Lest We Forget, allowing attendees to connect with the past while contributing to an ongoing conversation about memory and place.
