In a cooking-show format, the workshop covered materials, 3D scanning, and sustainability.

In a format reminiscent of a cooking show, this workshop, led by the National Pavilion UAE, broke down each stage of the design process, with materials and assemblies representing the final product. Samples were used to illustrate the research, curatorial concept, material selection, 3D scanning, and stone structure configuration.

Participants were guided through these phases, experimenting with 3D scanning features on smart devices and exploring how 3D printing can help reduce waste. The session encouraged critical thinking and promoted contextually relevant practices responsive to the UAE’s arid environment.
